Card Counting with Paul Stepahin
Sunday, January 29, 2012, 7PM

"Card Counting" is a term for various methods of beating the casino game of Blackjack. Paul will be explaining these methods, examining the theory of card counting, and diving deep into both its rich intellectual history and rollicking anecdotal history.

There will be full instructions on how to count cards yourself and Paul will share stories of how he used to make thousands of dollars by spilling drinks on strangers.

Paul Stepahin grew up in San Diego but has never been on a surfboard. He studied physics in college but still can't even understand how zippers work. After a brief career in arbitrage and deception (here recounted), he moved to San Francisco and became an exhibit maker at the Exploratorium. He is poorer now, but he's happier.
